This year marks the 25th anniversary of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. Created by Cancer Council Australia, the yearly event helps raise funds to support the organisation’s efforts to save lives, with more than a million people getting involved with morning teas at work, school, home and in the community.
What is Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea?
Australia's Biggest Morning Tea was created by Cancer Council Australia and is the organisation’s most popular fundraising event - and not only that, it’s the largest and most successful event of its kind in Australia.
In 2017 Australia’s Biggest Morning tea raised $11.9 million to help fund research, prevention and support services for those affected by cancer. This funding also goes towards the following and more:
- Information packs and advice on cancer treatment
- SunSmart school program which helps protect children from sun exposure
- Paying for cancer nurses
- Transport and accommodation for travel to treatment
- Training for support group volunteers
This year Cancer Council Australia hopes to raise $13 million. Hosting a tea is a fun and rewarding way to support the event and all donations raised will go towards Cancer Council’s work that supports everyone, across every area of every cancer. Every cup makes a difference, so whether you’re hosting or attending, you can show your support for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and help raise vital funds for Cancer Council - get involved by registering to host a tea!
