Brunch and Bubbles in the Garden
Pink Month is always an opportunity for people and organisations to focus on raising awareness about breast cancer and the necessity of checking ones breasts.
For the past few years Erilan has hosted a High Tea, inviting local women to enjoy an afternoon in the garden.
This year we decided to change it to a Brunch and Bubbles morning in the garden. 65 ladies enjoyed fine food, bubbles and tea/coffee in the garden on a lovely sunny morning. My daughter was in charge of the food and she produced a wonderful array of tempting delights which were widely appreciated.
We were well entertained with singing and background music and local hair and beauty salon, Passion, gave a demonstration on hair styling and body tanning. It was most interesting with eco friendly products being used. Passion also generously donated many prizes for the raffles.
It was also an opportunity for us to showcase Erilan's range of clothing. Many people are unaware of what is available for women after breast surgery. It is a way of educating them as knowledge allows one to be better prepared to help others and also cope if one finds themselves in need of the products too.
The money raised from the morning will be distributed between the local breast cancer group and 'What the Swell', a lymphoedema awareness forum that will be held early next year. Robyn Salau, a local lymphoedema therapist spoke about the forum encouraging women to support it.
Overall, a wonderful morning was had with money being raised for two very worthwhile organisations. I am fortunate to have a wonderful team that supports me, enabling Erilan to be so helpful to women.
