Choosing A Swim Form

Waterproof Breast Prostheses

It is not recommended to wear your normal prosthesis for swimming - it will absorb chlorine, perspiration, and the oils from sunscreen, and deteriorate much faster. This can cause the warranty to be void.

For exercise or swimming it is best to use a lightweight, waterproof swim form. There are two types to choose from.

Bead and mesh

These swim forms have a mesh shell and lightweight waterproof beads inside - like a little beanbag - which lets the water flow through. This means they move a bit like breast tissue inside your swimsuit, squishing slightly flatter like your natural breast does.

ABC Active Breast Prosthesis is a very popular design for swimming and exercise.

Silicone Swim Forms

These are lightweight, waterproof and clear. They have special channels at the back to let water flow underneath them.

The Anita Pure Fresh and the Amoena Aqua Wave are very similar in design.
